a poem; where ellie and joel are my vessel

My father: hard and haggard
Me: the weight of the world on my shoulders

I wonder — would my father end the world for me?
Does he love me enough to pull the trigger for me?

The thought keeps me up at night,
In a sleepless world of mindless delights.

Tell me, Father, do you love me?
Would you take that pressure off me?

Even if it meant you would die, too?
